Bootless II is an original story and film, from the prospective of Russell Ledet—a Black man attempting to land a residency slot in one of the most competitive specialties in medicine, Triple Board, where he would specialize in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. There are less than 25 slots in the entire country for hundreds to over 1000 applicants. Not only did Dr. Ledet land a slot as the only Black man in 2022, but also as the first Black man at Indiana University’s Triple Board Program. He chronicled what that experience was like so that others understand that telling your story, your way, in your timing is valuable.
